Short-term Professional Expert. Survey methodologist for the Consumer Expectations Survey - CES- recently launched by ECB. I mainly worked on methodological evaluation and further statistical quality development of this survey. CES is a mixed frequency modular survey based on pooled probabilistic and non-probabilistic samples’ design and conducted online. Main duties: data integrity & consistency checks; evaluation of samples representativeness at the national level; analysis of biases from non-sampling errors and data correction to alleviate their effect; elaboration of a longitudinal rotational scheme to integrate the survey design in order to mitigate of impact from panel conditioning. Also in charge of CES production processes, for regular dissemination on a monthly basis of microdata, metadata and related user-documentation. I was actively involved to the development of the IT system for treatment of data, paradata and metadata processing and their effective management in all survey operational phases: a set of routines for setting up an integrated and process based on different statistical packages – Python, Sas and Stata. I joined the restricted team assigned to the preparation of the technical documents for the second round of the CES procurement process managed by ECB.I also contributed to HFCS - Households Finance and Consumption Survey- data processing: technical and statistical validation for microdata collected through national surveys whose statistical contents are harmonized at the EU/ESCB-level for better comparability. HFCS collects household-level data on household finances –both wealth and income- and consumption.As an ECB expert staff member I joined the HFCN task teams on: i) using administrative data sources to complement survey data; ii) assessing usability of surveys’ panel components, to plan a future dissemination for HFCS longitudinal microdata. In the last six months I had the opportunity to lead the works by the latter.

Directorate of Social and Environment Statistics: Director’s staff.Coordinator of Istat Working Group (with F. Tartamella) for i) integration of micro and macro data on income & consumption; ii) provision of household type breakdown for distributional analysis of income and expenditure using NA flows.Member (10/2011-04/2013) of Eurostat TF for the revision of EuSilc legal basis. Also member of: i) Istat Task Force on Non-Observed Economy; ii) Eurostat Expert Group for testing the collection of information on household income in Eu-Labour Force Survey questionnaire. Other tasks: i) cross-sectional and panel data analysis on income distribution, poverty and inequality, labour market transitions;ii) test on the application of "projection estimators" in household surveys, as an alternative method for statistical integration of information; iii) data editing, outlier detection, regression imputation for expenditure variables in an household survey on residential energy consumption; iv) contributing to Istat Annual Report 2012-2013-2014.

EuSilc (Eu Statistics on Income and Living Conditions): 10/2004-10/2011. Main tasks: - transition to Capi tecnique: collaboration to questionnaire design, on-line edit checks, questionnaire testing, interviewers' training;- responsible for the longitudinal component data processing (2009-2011): consistency checks & correction; selective editing & multinomial model imputation for labour transitions; data validation and dissemination; - record linkage between tax & survey data: micro-level integration for income from employment, checks and imputation;- test & implementation for imputed rents' regression model estimates;- editor for quality reports. Coordinator (with S. Cardinaleschi) of Istat WG for Gender Pay Gap yearly estimates.LFS (Labour Force Survey): Date 07/2002 - 09/2004.Main tasks: - test & implementation for collection of information on monthly net income from employment; - data validation for Capi estimates; - implementation of standardised procedures for consistency checks at a micro level between occupations & firms' economic activities.

Lecturer of "Data Quality and Other Topics of Official Statistics". Curriculum: European Master in Official Statistics. I year, II semester. SECS-S/01, 6 CFU.Learning goals: knowledge at an intermediate and advanced level of the main issues in official statistics; focus on sources of non-sampling errors along all the phases of the survey process and how to real with them.Students acquire skills to tackle with more advanced topics in official statistics and data quality management.
