Dr. Eng. Davide Fabiani was born in Forlì on 7th January, 1972. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with honor in 1997 and 2002, respectively.Since 15/09/2014 he is Associate Professor in the Power Systems Group (Electrical Technologies) at Dept. of Electrical Electronics and Information Engineering - University of Bologna. Formerly he was Assistant Professor since 2004 at University of Bologna.On 31/03/2017 he got the abilitation to Full Professor in Power Systems Group (Electrical Technologies).Since 2011 he is Scientific Director of the Laboratory of Innovation Technologies (LIT) of the DEI of the University of Bologna.On 05/06/1998 he obtained the qualification for the profession of an Engineer.Since 1998 she participated in many Italian research projects and international research activites and he is or has been a consultant for many public and private companies. His research topics are in the field of electric power systems, ranging from the electrical asset management, the development of innovative magnetic materials, superconductors and composite materials, aging and electric system diagnostics (in particular, on the windings of the machines powered by electric power converters), to power quality.He is member of the Research Group on Electrospinning (RGE), University of Bologna.Since September 1999 he is co-founder of TechImp, spin-off of Bologna UniversitySince 1998 is a Member of IEEE and of Dielectric and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) as well as of Power Engineering Society (PES) since 2002. He is Secretary of the Bologna Section of AEIT. He is member of several WG of IEEE and CIGRE. He is member of the International Board of several IEEE conferences. From 2016 is a member of the AdCom of IEEE DEIS, where he plays the role of Chair of the Meetings Committe.He is author or co-author of more than 200 papers, most of them published on the major international journals and conference proceedings.
