Su.Pa. "Successful paths, supporting human and economic capital of migrants" is an International project, co-financed by the European Commission, Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries in the field of Migration and Asylum. Su.Pa. is a three-years lasting project promoting the economic value of migrants as a development factor in their country of origin, focusing on Senegal.As Project Executive Coordinator I directed the overall project activities, managed budget allocation, and coordinated an international partnership composed by institutional and private organizations.I took care of the relations with external stakeholders and with the European Commission, to secure an effective communication and information process.

Under the mandate of the IPA Adriatic EU - CBC Programme, advising the Veneto Region on the programme, thus including: support to programme documents drafting, consulting local beneficiaries and project applicants on programme strategies, application procedures, and budgeting.Evaluation and assessment of project proposals, compliance with the programme and regional policy tools.

In the framework of the Cocap Project "Cohesión social a través del fortalecimiento de las Cadenas Productivas" I supported the institutional and management positions of the Fondazione di Venezia and Veneto Region in the implementation of the project, liaising with the institutional partnership, represented by the State of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, the Province of San Juan in Argentina, and the Department of Misiones in Paraguay. The project, co-financed by the URB-AL III programme of the European Union, focused on the enhancement of the social capital through the implementation of local public policy to support the development of the SMEs system in the three LA regions, while starting from the Veneto key experience.

Within the International Projects Department, management and coordination of international projects in the area of economic migration and international labour mobility.I directly designed and implemented in team project proposals, co-financed by EU programmes, by regional public budget, and international donors.Projects mainly aimed at the identification of innovative practices for the integration of migrants in the destination countries of the EU, together with the support to the economic return of migrants to the countries of origin. This results in the realization of synergies between migration dynamics and local development policies in the sending countries (co-development).I led these activities in the framework of projects like the Interreg IIIC “City to City”, the regional project “Re.M., return of migrants”, SME’s, Support to Migrant Entrepreneurship (co-funded by IFAD), which I personally designed and coordinated.Within the Interreg IIIB Cadses “Migravalue” project I worked, in partnership with public and private organisations, to the definition of financial tools aimed at leveraging migrants remittances as a source of economic and social development for the territories of origin, through jointly participated planning processes.

As policy analyst, seconded by Veneto Lavoro, I led research and analysis activity in the framework of the horizontal project on the management of economic migration to support economic growth, aimed at highlighting the importance of migrants’ skills management as an economic development factor, at the local level.Main responsibilities were:› Research on best practices in the management of the international labour mobility;› Analysis of the impact of skills policies in the local labour markets;› Reporting on innovative successful initiatives to promote the link between migration flows and labour markets needs.

Jerusalem

Intern at the UNDP-PAPP in Jerusalem, within the Economic Development Unit. I led two economic development projects in the Bethlehem and Jericho Governorates, focusing on the economic recovery of the small entrepreneurship, commerce and the handicraft sector in these areas.I represented the UNDP-PAPP during the activities of the Inter-Agency Working Group on Human Rights, a body which involves delegates from all UN agencies working in the West Bank and Gaza. I cooperated with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Ramallah in the drafting of the 2005 Country Report on Human Rights in Palestine, with regard to the international legal framework.
