Construction of the Sergili Line of the Toshkent Metro (Client: “Uzbekistan Railways - Metro Bridge Department – O’zbekiston temir yo’llari” joint-stock company – Consultant: “Italferr S.p.A.” and “DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH”)The expansion to the Sergeli Metro line is composed of the overhead bridges with the total length of ca. 7 km and with five new stations.As part of the new Metro line and due to its complexity, the project design, supply, construction, installation, training and commissioning of the Sergeli Bridge line are considered a key element of the successful implementation and of the achievement of the envisaged objectives of the whole Metro project.The project mainly consist of construction of bridges in the Sergeli Department. At the same time, modern infrastructure have been installed (power supply, ventilation, fire extinguish systems, water discharge, video surveillance, signalling and telecommunication systems).For the construction: shallow foundation, bore pile foundations and driven concrete piles have been used. The bridge piers are placed at 26,5 m from each other. The height of the piers varies from 6 and 17 m. Double track is over the whole designed section.Foundations and piers are cast in place (except the driven prefabricated piles), beams for superstructure are prefabricated in the Bridge yard.As part of the international team of experts, is in charge of the construction drawings review and the site supervision of all the civil works involved in the metro line construction.Expert’s activities performed: Managing and Supervision Services, Technical review of the construction drawings submitted by the Contractor, Reviewing and approving the methodologies and working procedures for the construction works, Carrying out site inspections, audits and preparing reports for the Client on the quality and the progress of the construction works, Construction Supervision of signalization, telecommunication and power supply systems.

Construction of the electrified railway line Angren-Pap; (Client: “Uzbekistan Railways – O’zbekiston temir yo’llari” joint-stock company – Consultant: “Italferr S.p.A.”)The project is composed of the main and safety tunnels, both approx. 20 km long and the whole line between Angren and Pap (approx. 123 km long). The new railway provides a direct link between the capital Tashkent and Uzbekistan’s second-largest city Namangan and will also enable east-west freight traffic to avoid the transit route through northern Tajikistan.As part of the international team of experts, is in charge of the site supervision of all the signalling, power supply and scada works involved in the railway line construction.Expert’s activities performed: Managing and Supervision Services, Technical review of the construction drawings submitted by the Contractor, Reviewing and approving the methodologies and working procedures for the construction works, Carrying out site inspections, audits and preparing reports for the Client on the quality and the progress of the construction works, Construction Supervision of signalization, telecommunication, power supply and SCADA system.

- Planning of project to comply with the 3 fundamental constraints: deliver what is required, respecting the time required and the budget allocated;- Management of works in multidisciplinary public contracts including, in addition to railway signalling, civil works, telecommunications and fiber optics, medium and low voltage electrical installations;- Definition of project activities, assignment of responsibilities, estimation of costs, drawing up of the grid of activities;- Project planning, control of the project plan and analysis of the deviation of the results from the objectives;- Drafting of the Gantt diagram (Microsoft Project) through the estimation of Duration and analysis of costs over time (Budget and cost Baseline, drafting Sal/SIL curves);- Periodic analysis and deviation control;- Resource management and corrective action plan.

The project includes the technological upgrade of the Voltri-Brignole railway lines. The project includes the technological update of the Turin-Padua railway lines. The field work took many years, involving multiple technologies focused on the installation of innovative signalling and telecommunications systems. This project includes a new production start-up for Site S.p.A. In particular, the range of railway safety products developed by Site S.p.A. at its Ozzano site will be extended to include Impedance Bonds, for which Site S.p.A. has been licensed by Hitachi Rail STS. In addition to ensuring the interoperability of the railway lines along the Lisbon – Kiev European corridor, this technological upgrade will have considerable benefits for regional and commuter traffic: trains will be more regular, ancillary service will be more efficient, maintenance will be improved and the cost of using the infrastructure will be lowered.Expert’s activities performed: Managing and Supervision Services, Contract Management and Construction Supervision of civil works, signalization, telecommunication, power supply and SCADA system supplied by Site S.p.A.

New High Speed Milan-Bologna Passenger and Freight Railway Line;High Speed Railway Line – Bologna Junction. The Verona–Bologna railway is a major Italian railway connecting Verona and Bologna and part of the major axis from the Brenner railway to the Bologna–Florence and on to Rome. The line is part of the Line 1 of Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T). The Verona–Bologna railway is a double track line with both lines equipped with bi-directional signaling. It is laid with 60 kg/m (40 lb/ft) rail on prestressed concrete sleepers. Both tracks are electrified at 3,000 volts DC; electrification of the original single track line was completed in 1941.The Verona–Bologna line is the first line in Italy to be operated under the new Italian high capacity system, thanks to the duplication work; this project is intended to reduce journey times for both passenger and freight trains.Responsibility: check the works ensuring their execution according to the instructions received and in accordance with the legislation, with the provisions of the law and with contractual obligations.Main tasks: carry out checks on compliance with legal obligations in the field of public works, prepare the formal and accounting documentation, verify the physical progress of the works; supervise the execution of construction activities, attend to the processing and withdrawal of material, supervise safety on site; arrange for the preparation of formal documents, provide for the preparation of accounting documents.Experience gained on site and in the implementation of railway projects.Technical skills: construction processes and materials technologies; knowledge of the relevant legislation on Public Works and Safety.Distinctive skills and attitudes: analytical skills, results orientation, proactivity, teamwork.
