Working as a free lancer in the European Commission, hired by DiGit as part of the Team developing the EC main websites (https://ec.europa.eu/info, ec.europa.eu/commission, https://ec.europa.eu/commission/commissioners, https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation).These applications are developed on top of Drupal 7 using the NextEuropa platform, a distribution made internally in the commission for their corporate websites.These websites are the result of the work made by the DTT (Digital Transformation Team) in DgComm and they present the new visual identity of the European Commission as defined in the related styleguide (https://ec-europa.github.io/ec-europa-theme), a component based system meant to standardize the look and feel of the corporate websites of the European Commission.

In the aim of extending and sharing the work done to define the new visual identity of the European Commission a project has been started in order to make the developed drupal theme and tools available to all the Ec websites using the NextEuropa platform. Digital Single Market has been the pilot for this project.

As a DIGIT developer in the EC i have been assigned to a task in Dg Connect in order to develop a drupal feature to integrate the newsroom service (coldfusion application for creating and dispatching news in the EC) in the NextEuropa platform in order to make it available to all the websites in the EC using this drupal platform. The feature has been integrated and being bundled as an "on request" available feature.

The Ediesse publishing company portal is one of the first projects i've been developing in my career, they recently asked for a complete web layout change due to the new visual identity of the magazine Rivista giuridica del Lavoro, RGL. This work also implied a simplification of the application serving contents from the magazine that has to live together with the former implementation since only the new issues will use the new, simplified approach.

The European Commission recently had to migrate their websites from different technologies, especially Documentum, to Drupal 7 and specifically to the NextEuropa platform as the corporate platform based on D7.I have been working in the early stage of this ambitious activity, helping defining the framework and implementing routines to be then reused in the migration of more than an hundred websites.
