Within Maersk I've been responsible for the achievement of various budgets and I have been coaching a number of 14 country sales managers (Italy, Turkey, Greece, Slovenia and Montenegro amongst the main ones) and their sales executives in the difficult task of maintaining and growing a set market share and its proportions ( mutually agreed between the Headquarters and the Country Agencies responsible for their area budget). I have operated within the North America market from/to North European main ports with particular dedication to the UK loadings and specifically from Tilbury to South Africa. Old style Agency where quotes were still given on weight/measurement basis using liner vessels (like the legendary Marina Star of Brointermed for Lybia, Mc Gregor hatches provided) or trump vessels chartered by their P&I office.I was following and looking after the whole process of all shipments, including creation and issuing of Bills and Cargo Manifests still using "carbon copy and tissue paper", captain copies and originals of bills and manifest were handed over to the Captain onboard before vessels departure. Stowing plan per port of discharge was also part of our duties.
