The OIM project, located in the largest copper mine in the world, consist in the excavation by drill&blast of aprox. 48.000mt of tunnels and various shafts by using raise boring machine for the access to the different production levels.

The project involves the construction of a hydroelectric power plant consists of a CFRD dam type of 1,000,000 cubic meters and a RCC dam of 200.000mc. It also provides the excavation of the central home machines, all the tunnels of the hydraulic circuit (adduction, bottom outlets, shafts, gates, etc.), civil works of the plant and lining of the tunnels and shafts.

The project includes the excavation of two diversion tunnels of 870 and 830 m in length respectively and Section 108 square meters, the tunnel entrances to the cave of home machines, swing and transformers. In addition, the project involves the excavation of the spillway of about 1,500,000 cubic meters.

The main works are: CFRD Dam of 5,000,000 cubic meters of fill; Diversion tunnel total length of 1202 m, section 12 m x 12 m, bottom outlet tunnel of length 376 m; Tunnel Unloading of 732 m in length, diameter 8.0 m; Tunnel adduction of length 433 m; Cave house machines 63m long, 21m wide, and 41m in height and cave of the transformers. Civil works of the plant, intake, tunnel lining and wells, the access road to the dam, etc..

Main object of the contract KAR-14 is the execution of the headrace tunnel (60km lenght)excavated with three cutters TBM diameter 7.60 m while the contract KAR-11 consist in the construction of a dam type CFRD.
