Co-teaching MSEM616 Materials and Methods to graduate-level museum design students for the museum studies program. Sharing expertise in woods, metals, glass, plastics, AV/media, electronics, scenic fabrication, and interactive technologies along with information about how to specify, budget, schedule and coordinate with fabricators.

Cincinnati, Ohio Area

Worked in the United Arab Emirates on the building of Ferrari World--the world's largest indoor theme park, located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Responsible for managing multiple subcontractors in six countries for almost $50M of scenic fabrication for attractions, including dark rides and galleries. Led coordination of rides and galleries with all MEP and building elements. Assisted art director to ensure integrity of design intent, with particular emphasis on the visitor experience in a highly dynamic environment.

Led or helped with 12 museum projects totaling more than $25 million (ranging in size from $5M to $30K). Managed all aspects of exhibit fabrication and installation, including budget, schedule, design/build coordination and on-site supervision. Worked closely with vendors and subcontractors of all types including, but not limited to, carpenters, artists, scenic fabricators, multimedia producers, interactive fabricators, metalworkers, and numerous other skilled trades and specialty fabricators.

Worked in a team environment to create exhibitions and programs on a limited budget, staff and schedule. Developed 9 exhibits of various sizes in 3 years, including designing, curating and fabricating a major exhibit (with catalog) showcasing 200 years of U.S. Presidential campaign memorabilia at the time of the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. Completely remodeled museum store, initiated revamping of visitor services, helped redesign new museum website, and worked closely with Board to create first-ever employee handbook.

Helped develop team environment to install 17 exhibits over 3 years as well as assist with the opening of a new world-class facility in 1997 that received international recognition. Responsible for maintaining exhibit budgets and schedules, and for creating and supervising an in-house fabrication studio. Also, established a first-time program to educate staff about different ways to devise and implement accessibility standards into their everyday work.

Completed projects in collections preservation & management, exhibition development & design, and interpretation.

Assisted Keeper R. Neil Fulghum on a wide variety of tasks, including object registration, conservation & housing, exhibit design & fabrication, label writing, leading tours, and other duties as requested.

Worked at the School of Medicine in a variety of positions, including assisting with research projects, performing data collection and entry, and providing clerical support.
