The Mission of the AFIT Foundation is to support the goals of the Air Force Institute of Technology. Functions performed by the foundation to perform this mission include:•Informing the alumni, former faculty, and friends everywhere of the mission, status, goals, and achievements of AFIT; and of its roles in the community, the Air Force, and in defense-related education.•Management of the Distinguished Speaker Series.•Recognition of AFIT alumni.•Organizing activities for local alumni.•Maintenance and investment of donated and honorary award funds, endowments, and foundation dues.•Compliance with tax requirements and maintenance of financial records.•Recognition of AFIT graduates

Responsible for strategic planning and programming for all USAF combat support functions—a $42B annual budget. Serves as the USAF’s lead integrator for the Agile Combat Support Core Function. Provides analysis support for command acquisition and sustainment issues. Leads the command’s base realignment and closure, process re-engineering, lessons learned, and public-private partnership activities.

Responsible for policies and procedures governing all AFMC flight, space and information operations. Provided planning, programming, budgeting, training, and operations leadership for the conduct of all USAF developmental test activities. Managed deployment scheduling, sourcing, readiness reporting and execution for all command airmen. Developed test enterprise facility and equipment investment plans to meet Air Force test infrastructure and manpower requirements.

Led a 10,000 person workforce in operating the largest and most complex joint test, training, and acquisition center in DoD. Responsible for the development, acquisition, and testing of USAF and joint service air-delivered weapons. Planned and conducted test and evaluation of U.S. and allied air armament, navigation, and command and control systems. Operated 130,000 square mile joint test and training range; managed a base supporting over 25,000 employees and family members.

Led the execution of the USAF Security Assistance and Foreign Military Sales program, involving over 100 countries, 6600 aircraft, and a budget of $96B. Responsible for the command’s foreign disclosure policies and oversight.

Lead airman in Iraq, supporting the joint task force commander’s airpower requirements. Supported several thousand airmen dispersed throughout the country. Led the rebuilding of the Iraqi Air Force, providing aircraft, equipment, and training. Managed the reconstruction of Iraqi air bases and stood up the Iraqi air staff and air operations center.

As university president, provided defense-focused graduate & continuing education through three resident schools, a civilian institution program, and the AF Center for Systems Engineering. Managed the execution of cutting-edge research in cyber, directed energy, hypersonics, stealth, navigation, and space. Led the largest growth initiative in the school’s history, projecting an additional 1000 graduate degrees per year.

Second in command of the largest, most diverse USAF acquisition center, employing over 10,000 personnel in 25 worldwide locations. Developed, acquired, tested and planned sustainment for advanced aerospace and human performance systems. Managed over 500 Air Force, joint and international aircraft acquisition programs; executed a $23B annual budget.

Led the development and test of advanced aerospace systems for the United States and its allies. Operated, modified, and maintained a fleet of 92 aircraft of 29 different types. In coordination with DoD and sister service agencies, planned and budgeted for current and future test needs within the western test range complex. Executed a budget of over $1B and managed resources exceeding $6B in a 4000 person organization.

One of four DoD officers selected to spend a year working at the Brookings Institution "Think Tank." Authored a comprehensive report on modernization options for the US Air Force.

Second in command of the Air Staff office responsible for acquisition policy and congressional liaison for airlift, tanker, training, and special operations weapon systems.

Led the developmental flight test efforts for all models of the F-15 and T-38 aircraft.

Led a $1.3B modification program to install GPS receivers on all USAF aircraft.
