Led the design and installation of hyperwall2, a 8x16-screen visualization cluster; designed and built the monitor mounting system. Developed an arbitrary-resolution animation playback application for hyperwall2. Instrumented the Weather Research and Forcasting model for concurrent visualization, and ran test cases for Hurricane Katrina and Typhoon Morakot. Developed a volume rendering system for cell-centered AMR astrophysical data sets. Created visualizations for a number of customers, including the Review Board studying the 2008 flame trench damage, and a NESC study of SRB ignition when in the Vehicular Assembly Building.

Developed a concurrent visualization system for the NASA Ames Columbia supercomputer, concentrating on the MPEG encoding and display portion of the system. Created a pre- computation system for interactive particle visualization of multi-terabyte data sets. Investigated out-of-core visualization techniques for very large (10-1000 Gbyte) Computational Fluid Dynamics data sets for the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division of NASA Ames Research Center; the latest results allow the visualization of a one Tbyte data set on a personal computer. Prototyped new algorithms using FEL and FM, which are C++ libraries that encapsulate different grid types using polymorphism.
