I served as Assistant Principal at Parkside Community Academy in Chicago. As Assistant Principal, my job included the following essential areas: (1) Served as advisor to the principal, (2) Assumed primary responsibility for the discipline and attendance of designated students, (3) Provided leadership and supervision for the student activity programs, (4) Assisted with the selection, supervision, and evaluation of all school personnel . (5) Served as staff development and curriculum manager for the principal’s office (6) Supervised the preparation and distribution of all school handbooks, newsletters, and policy manuals, (7) Assumed fiscal and supervisory responsibility for the implementation of the summer school program, after school reading and mathematics programs, and auxiliary Programs, (8) Acted as Principal in the absence of the Principal, (9) Performed many other duties assigned by the Principal.

Represented school to a wide range of parent, community academic and professional constituencies. in three years, doubled percentage of students performing at or above national norms as revealed on the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. Removed school from academic Probation in three years and restored it to a model for educational excellence. Wrote a Weekly Education Column in The Chicago Crusader News Paper for the 1997-1998 school year.1993-2004 2001-2004 - Assistant PrincipalDuties: Wrote the Annual School Improvement Plan. Developed, in concert with the principal, staff, parents, and community, a vision of what a great school should be. Implemented a systematic cycle and process of Curriculum Review. Served as Graduate Student Advisor and University Supervisor of Principal Interns in the public school system. Taught Educational Administration Practicums, other graduate level classes in Educational Administration and Supervision to future and practicing principals as well as teacher education courses in Educational Foundations and in Educational Testing and Assessment. Supervised Principal Interns and Teacher Interns in the Kentucky Principal and Teacher Intern Programs. Taught graduate students at an advanced level of computer literacy. Taught Educational Administration and Teacher Education classes via interactive television.

As Associate Professor of Education: Provided both direct academic facilitation and interactive TV instruction to students in the College of Education. Facilitate, teach, evaluate, and mentor students working from their home communities using videoconferencing.. Taught Educational Administration through interactive TV in each semester across the state of Kentucky at Eastern Kentucky University. For Professors to teach all across the state, Interactive Television was a way to bridge EKU classrooms together via IP-based classroom videoconferencing. I ensured that the necessary equipment functioned correctly, monitored the class on campus and locally, and distributed and collected assignments. Worked, and mentor graduate, Masters, and doctoral students in development of their research, provide instructive feedback to students on a timely and regular basis, and serve on committees at the Dean's request.
