Since starting with STG, I've done some really interesting work with javascript libraries to create web user interfaces. I've also done a lot of work with Spring MVC, Spring security, Hibernate, and a lot of back-end work in the classic MVC development model.

On my current assignment through Electronic Data Systems (EDS) on their contract with the Veterans Administration in Salt Lake City, I have been doing a lot of web work. As part of this, I have written Struts GUIs that utilize Displaytag, JavaScript and AJAX that are compliant with Section 508 of the Disabilities Act for blind user accessability.Some of the more interesting back-end work I have done to support the GUI includes a non-blocking listener service I wrote. The listener is embedded inside a web application and uses WebLogic's ServletContextListener to start and stop itself as the application is deployed or restarted. This listener accepts incoming HL7 data messages from remote VistA accounts, parses them and writes the payload to an Oracle database.I have also done extensive work with the HL7 API (HAPI) and created custom extensions to generate proprietary HL7 messages containing standardized medical reference terminology.
