Architected new framework for internal Cloud to better extract and report on data from PMO flagship product. Architecture was built to leverage data containers and REST APIs so that extracts and reports could be built and delivered quicker and automated. Delivered a key change to the PMO Project Management application to provide mobility support and to align with moving deployment as a Progress Web Application.Implemented agile methodologies to deliver productivity enhancing tools throughout the enterprise using state of the art technologies. Implemented short development cycles leveraging CI/CD. Directly tied to bringing over $5Million in productivity savings on a single project and an additional $20 Million in new business within a single year.

Working for a small international company, directed, managed, and planned tasks for team of up to six technical staff across the UK and US responsible for all Clinical Computing Application Development in all international markets which includes the vertical tiered Clinical Vision product line and all hospital and medical equipment interfacing. Responsible for performance reviews, hiring and firing of staff, mentoring, apprise staff of company direction, and provide technical direction for team. Project planned and tracked all project activities and reported to senior management on progress. Implemented standard development practices such as but not limited to: iterative development, requirement’s analysis, code freeze, QA release, system documentation (functional specifications, release notes, design docs, and more). Drove to completion six major product releases including the release of a new vertical tier Transplant product. When required took an active role in development by designing, writing, and implementing code. Trained new installation programmer on Wise for Windows Installer which resulted in providing an installation that replaced a 28step manual installation process. Provided HL7 interfacing training, guidance for other departments, including clinical enterprise systems use, for example: ADT, Lab Results, Lab Orders, and Billing. Provided expertise to the Application Development team, Support, and QA for dialysis machine interfaces. Mentored team on COM/COM+ development to replace third party library drug list with in house deployed list providing phonetic lookup. Leveraging previous componentized design, this effort was completed in two days and saved the company $60K annually.

Software Solutions Architect providing solutions to various companies in a wide range of project types including engineering to telecommunications.Provided key Unix to Win32 software solutions for engineering application development and deployment. The application deployment solutions were developed using Wise for Windows Installer and custom Visual Basic MSI scripting. The packaging required designing and implementing Merge Modules and MSI Transforms. Provided critical application deployment packaging expertise as part of GE’s Windows 2000 global rollout. Working for the Engineering Analysis team, provided consultation for Unix to Windows 2000 application migration. Created Perl Module libraries for engineering staff to manage WMI functions and windows registry manipulation. Designed and wrote the Win32 version of the Affordable Supercomputing Environment Night and Day (ASCEND) system using UML, XML, VC++, COM, Perl, and Perl/TK. The ASCEND system is a 24x7 global grid computing submission system for Win32 to support engine analysis tasks. Designed and wrote the ASCEND Win32 deployment using Wise for Windows Installer using MS Merge Modules. Consulted on and programmed Unix to Win32 port of 2D airfoil rendering system. Architected the low level Win32 GDI driver to provide multi-threaded window creation, management, and GDI support using C/C++ for the airfoil rendering system. Wrote the Fortran interface test driver for validation and verification of this project. Ported the Graphical Editing system from Unix to Win32. This system was written in a combination of TCL and C. Designed and wrote various engineering support applications and libraries, including printer enumeration, custom secure Win32 RunAs utility, and others. Wrote VB Script tools to query and MSI database using SQL to provide both pre and post installation functions.

Responsible for driving IT development direction. Architected service-based Web Business Framework using Java, J2EE, JSP, JNI, JavaDoc, XML, and UML. Each Framework service was designed using a PlugIn design pattern and was designed to be deployed either as an EJB or standalone service. The Framework was deployed using JBoss J2EE Application server running on Linux. The Data Access, Auditing, and Notification layers implemented interfaces to provide for Bean Managed Persistence, Bean Managed Auditing, and Bean Managed Exception Notification. The Data Access Layer was implemented using SQL and XML. SQL was used for database stored procedures in the business component persistence. XML was used for static persisted properties and for providing a consistent normalized import and export structure. The Enterprise Layer used Object caching for performance, auditing, and validation. The Framework supported core business applications include Tax Filing, Client Startup and Import, and Client Balance Entry. Used the Mutable/Immutable design pattern which implemented a mutation listener to ease UI development. Designed and implement various helper JavaBeans for UI and Multithread development. Designed and implemented JNI to COM wrapper to leverage existing business functions. Implemented Best Practices, Code/Design Reviews, and an Iterative Development Model. Designed and Implemented Java based product to interact with government web site using HTTP and JSSE which improved W2 submission turn around from one (1) month to under 24 hours. Designed processing COM object to promote processing speed. Designed and implemented various COM objects for business functions. Wrote various internal web pages using HTML and JavaScript. Assisted the Online Reporting team with HTML/HTTP support. Implemented the component for determining browser version.

Managed and developed mail server management project. This project required the design and implementation of the Web Mail Server system. This system provided a secure means for users to update their mail settings. The web pages where HTML pages that interacted with Mail Server API to provide for password changes, custom signatures, and the like. Managed all CD, download, and web deploy installation projects. Wrote installations for ISP product installation using InstallShield for Windows Installer and Wise InstallMaster 8.1 Web Deploy. The Windows Installer for MSI installation was used to provide for custom installation bundling. StartFree had strategic partnerships and some partners required there products to be bundled in the installation. The installation used MSI Modules to limit the complexity of the scripts. Designed and wrote Multi-Threaded WinSock COM Server. This COM Server used and MD5 Security Hash to interact with internet port providers to disconnect hanging processes. The server was designed as a Singleton Queue based component where performance was critical. Designed and wrote VB application to interface with Excel and pull information from multiple formatted sheets and populate a database. This application was used to collect new port information from the port providers. VB as used to provide ease for support by the operations team. Provided support for various office and server systems including DNS. Managed project to reduce download size by replacing CMAK with in-house custom RAS dialer.

C++, COM Enterprise Software Solutions EngineerDesigned and wrote COM objects and class factories for plastics molding monitoring system running on NT. The COM objects used interface inheritance to facilitate interaction with a central monitoring engine. Designed and wrote views and stored procedures to support COM objects using SQL Server 7.0. Ported acquired monitoring system from SQL Server 6.5 to SQL Server 7.0. Designed and wrote products installation using InstallShield 5.5. This installation permitted customers to install turnkey solution without the need of field engineers. The installation scripts were written to be aware of whether the system was a Server or Client system and installed the business components appropriately. The server installation could create the system’s SQL Server database from scratch and preload required tables. It also was written to detect an existing installation using the windows registry and upgrade from any prior version.
