The highlights of my accomplishments include the following: •Developed a web based InfoPath 2007 XML project management tool for all ACH team members and managers. The key features of the tool included scalability, portability, and compatibility with SharePoint Server 2007. An important feature of the tool was a series of dashboards created to make project information accessible to key stakeholders. Overall, this tool provided a more effective and efficient format for project managers to track critical ACH projects.•Designed and deployed the ACH team website using SharePoint Server 2007. SharePoint Designer was used to customize the standard website template. Three key features were added to the website: a discussion blog; a recognition process; and a feedback process. The results from a customer survey indicated that the website was successful at delivering timely and targeted information including critical business data to managers and associates. It also improved project collaboration between all ACH functional teams.•Developed and facilitated SharePoint Server 2007 training for 20 line managers and associates. The museum wanted to expand its target market, so we focused our research to include a competitive and repertory grid analysis of the local museum market, and then used ethnographic interviews along with a laddering analysis to construct a value chain of museum customer attitudes and preferences.The result of our extensive research and analysis was to provide the MOA team a brand schematic summarizing the type of campaign they should launch to gain traction with the primary target market. The brand schematic was a culmination of work that included the following key components:•A repertory grid analysis comparing 5 competitors along 9 categories of salient elements.•A total of 40 ethnographic interviews to identify museum values, benefits, and attributes.•Identifying 3 target or ideal groups using Laddering analysis to develop preferential bridges.•Designing a Hierarchical Value Map to qualify ethnographic interview data.•Constructing a Means-End maps that revealed the various sets of connections between product and person most prevalent in the local museum market.•Designing the Brand Schematic core theme of the advertising campaign used to target the primary and secondary love groups.The recommendations of our marketing research were not immediately implemented by the MOA marketing team; although we were assured that our research would be used in later advertising campaigns.

Here’s a breakdown of each:Phase 1 involved primary research in the local and national documentary arts markets to understand the business models being used in the area of documentary arts. The purpose of the mission was to replace the NASA Scatterometer (NSCAT) that was damaged when the satellite it was flying on lost power in June 1997.The bulk of my work and learning about systems integration occurred by supporting the test engineering group. I was responsible for developing a series of procedures designed to test the SeaWinds instrument, a specialized microwave radar that measures near-surface wind speed and direction under all weather and cloud conditions over Earth's oceans. These procedures amounted to a series of electrical, mechanical, and thermal stress tests to ensure the instrument was operating within the guidelines specified by the engineering design team.I worked with a test engineer at Honeywell to setup the test instrumentation software that was used to collect the data. I then analyzed the data and compiled a comprehensive report of the test results, which were presented to the senior systems engineering team.Again, the highlights of my internship included the following accomplishments:•Supported the SeaWinds systems engineering group, and was responsible for developing test procedures, preparing software test environment, and compiling test results for review.•Worked with Honeywell engineers to setup and run the test instrumentation software that was used to collect the data for each phase of the mechanical, electrical, and thermal stress tests.•Performed statistical analysis to on the test data, developed inferential models for worst case operating conditions, and presented a comprehensive report of the results to the systems engineering group.

I had to ensure that the control system was receiving signals from the robots environment through a series of sensors mounted on the craft; a fluxgate compass for measuring heading, three downward facing ultrasonic sensors for determining the roll, pitch, and height of the craft, an RPM sensor mounted on the main rotor mast for measuring engine speed, and a gray-scale CCD camera to provide visual information. A summary of my contributions included the following:•Worked with PhD doctoral candidates to prepare the AFV-1 robot for the Aerial Robotics Competition by supporting the mechanical, electrical and software design of the craft, and helping the team place second in the competition.•Prepared flight operating procedures for flight tests, which included power supply checks, software updates, mechanical balancing, and fueling.•Responsible for testing and updating the firmware for the ultrasonic sensors that used the PIC16F line of microcontrollers; the code was written in low level PIC assembly.•Designed mechanical support fixtures to mount and protect the CCD camera, the fluxgate compass, and the 68332 microprocessors that stored the control software.

ExxonMobil Corporation is an international oil and gas company, providing energy to various world markets.I participated in a 12 week internship program in ExxonMobil’s crude oil facility in San Ardo California. I learned about the various processes used in heavy oil production like steam injection and well pressurization. As an operations engineer, I was taught the fundamentals of process design, how to view the various inputs and outputs of a system, and adjust the tailor the process according to the desired goals under certain constraints. One important lesson I learned was the efficient processes are not always the most optimal and vice versa.An important project I worked on as a facilities engineer was to reduce power consumption throughout the facility. The scope of the project was to analyze the power utilization of an average oil well, and recommend alternatives to reduce the well’s power usage. The results of this project showed that by replacing the stuffing box with a model providing less friction decreased the average power consumption of a well by 25%. This translated into an average savings of $625 for each oil well per year, and total annual savings for the facility equal to $125,000. To summarize, the highlights of my internship included the following:•Worked as an operations and facilities engineer learning the basics of heavy oil production, analyzed important processes, and conducted research to reduce facility energy costs.•Acted as relationship manager between numerous manufacturers, vendors and contractors; organized and presented cost and feasibility analysis on all project assignments.•Developed and implemented a test program to evaluate motor electrical consumption, as well as managed two acidizing procedures to increase oil production of older wells.•Recommended the adoption of plastic stuffing box technologies that reduced wellhead friction, and lowered total facility energy costs by $125,000 per year.
