Activities Leader (Plaza) – Green Valley Ranch And Montbello
CurrentWork in Denver Public Library locations assisting in the specialized facilitation of activities as a part of the New Americans Project. Assist with services that engage immigrant and refugee communities including English conversation practice, creative expression, citizenship preparation and general daily life topics geared toward self-sufficiency. Collaborate with the program team to facilitate informational and practical programming through informal methods and inclusive approaches. Selected Accomplishments Community Engagement: Facilitate activities targeting immigrant and refugee communities at one of Denver’s major urban library systems with over 4 million annual visitors and 27 locations. Program Development and Implementation: Assisted in the delivery of diverse services such as conversation practice, citizenship preparation, and self-sufficiency skills development, tailored to the unique needs of Denver’s immigrant population. Cultural and Linguistic Inclusivity: Engaged in multilingual environments to enhance service delivery and community integration, using Spanish, French, and English. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work collaboratively with program teams to develop and implement innovative, informal, and inclusive programming that responds dynamically to community trends. Interpersonal and Cultural Competence: Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and cultural awareness through daily interactions with customers, coworkers, and community members, ensuring respectful and effective communication. Event Management: Coordinate program setup and cleanup, ensuring smooth operation of community events and activities.
