My advisory work concentrates on optimising financings and on regulatory strategy. I track and speak frequently on developments in global and Australian banking regulation.My recent transaction practice includes leading roles advising:• RMIT University on the design and execution of its common terms $500 million AUD syndicated bank debt and long term US Private Placement financing program, completed January 2018• Australian Unity on its investments in and development of the Rathdowne Place, Campbell Place, Albert Rd and Lane Cove retirement villages and aged care facilities• Australian Unity on the financing aspects of the redevelopment of the Herston Quarter in Brisbane to create a A$1.1 billion health, seniors living, residential and retail precinct• 7-Eleven, Zodiac Pool Solutions and Elders Ltd on their syndicated debt facilities• American Industrial Partners on Australian aspects of the debt financing of its USD1.2 billion Moly-Cop acquisition• MAP Capital/SB&G Hotel Group on the financing of its A$500 million acquisition of a portfolio of hotels • Affinity Equity Partners on the syndicated bank debt for Primo Smallgoods from acquisition to exit as part of JBS of Brazil acquiring the group for A$1.45 billion• Affinity Equity Partners on the leveraged finance for its acquisition of Tegel Foods, sale and leaseback and IPO refinancing• Victoria Racing Club on the $120 million construction financing of its new club stand at Flemington Racecourse, the home of the Melbourne Cup• on the bank debt for the $640.2 million acquisition of RetireAustralia• CKI Holdings of Hong Kong on syndicated bank debt for the $2.37 billion Envestra Ltd acquisition • Equis Asia Fund on the shareholders and funding arrangements with Partners Group establishing the clean energy infrastructure fund Soleq• Wesfarmers' Coles Group on its funding to the Alphington Paper Mill acquisition and redevelopment, one of the largest single residential land acquisitions in Australia.

In an earlier part of my career, I led or co-led legal teams on some of Australia’s then largest energy and infrastructure deals and acquisition/project financings arising from the privatisation of the Victorian electricity and gas industries and the establishment of the Crown Casino and Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. In doing so, I assisted a number of international organisations investing for the first time in Australia in setting up their Australian investment and debt structures.
