I worked in the Standard & Poor's MMS division of McGraw Hill, the leading provider of real-time, independent analysis of global financial markets. My primary responsibility was to generate and coordinate written strategies/viewpoints for currency, fixed income and other MMS products for global client base. I provided analytical and contact oversight for the Americas-based analyst team, and presented MMS-based fundamental and technical views on currency and global asset markets to broader S&P financial services group.I also served as a member of the S&P Investments Policy Committee, which met on a weekly basis to discus and set asset allocation and related economic/interest rate forecasts.

I served as the Regional Product Manager for award-wining MMS Currency Market Insight service. I managed a four-member staff of technical and fundamental analysts, and wrote daily commentary and strategies on FX and related asset markets. I co-chaired a bi-weekly meeting of MMS global currency analysts. I also supported sales and marketing initiatives through client visits, formal presentations and phone contact/e-mail alerts. Additionally, I was a critical member of the internet product design team for both overall home page design and particularly for layout and navigational content of the currency section of Globalmarkets.com.

I also served as Vice Chairman of Asset Allocation Committee and a member of the Investment Strategy Committee which reviewed and coordinated all investment strategies and client-related products within Private Banking area. Additionally, I authored official currency hedging policy for portfolio investments and gave a monthly review of capital market developments for client distribution.

I was responsible for junior staff training, coordination of desk activities with non-dollar equity and fixed-income areas, and related credit/risk management departments. I led sales desk in both profits and managed the most active client base with a market focus on hedge funds, global asset managers and large corporate trading accounts. I also introduced a trading and charting system to interbank desk and participated in a weekly strategy meetings with senior trading management. (Promoted to Vice President in July, 1990.)
