Year 1, you could find me selling out of precarious locations including my former employers office (ask me about how I pulled that off), my bedroom equipped with 6 month-old infant, coffee shops, or wherever I could find wifi to the tune of $1mm in new bookings, all while developing the foundation of a sales and go-to-market strategy that could scale. I'm booking as much new revenue as possible while providing mission critical feedback to our product, engineering, marketing and customer success team as we continually validate our product market fit. Year 2, I hired 3 additional team members to the tune of $4.2mm in new bookings. Implemented Salesforce.com implemented and created the SDR function. Defined SLA's for MQL's, SQL's and lead qualification process and hired SDR manager to hire and coach SDR team. Fast forward to 2013, we are a team of 7 (2 sdrs + 1 demand gen), accounting for $6mm+ in new bookings. From startup to legitimate small business, our executives unveil the need for a sales team at our Charleston HQ and I personally move across the country to build out the sales org from scratch again.In 2014 my focus turned to recruiting, on-boarding, training, and working cross-functionally as we double in size. We finally eclipse $10mm bookings milestone at $11mm. I'm learning to scale, focusing on becoming a leader who is developing other leaders as sales management, operations, enablement functions start to mature. Looking back as the 1st sales hire, I'm so grateful for the journey and lessons learned from 1st sales hire to a sales team of 40+ individuals, comprised of sdrs, bdrs, sales executives, managers. During my tenure, BT grew to 260 employees, $40+mm in ARR, and most importantly, invaluable growth as a human being.
