As The Red Balloon Toy Store is a family business, I inherently play many roles, including buying, accounting and negotiating with vendors – all contributing to how we grow the business. At the beginning of each year, I take customer, manager and employee feedback to assess how we did in the prior year and how we can take our business forward. During these in-house meetings, I discuss the new year’s goals – what they are and what it’ll take to meet them. To a large degree, these goals determine where my focus will be for the year.My first years were focused on launching our Amazon (Fulfillment by Amazon) store, improving our hiring process and employee training, improving our inventory management, and implementing our "Toy Club".The volume of our Amazon store allowed us to gain improved terms with our vendors and additional cash flow. Our improved hiring process resulted in improved customer service. Adding custom scripting to our inventory management reduced the amount of labor hours it takes to get our products to the shelf by just under 50%. Our loyalty program "Toy Club" has found success in increased customer engagement and retention. Toy Club members make more frequent purchases, have higher tickets, and now make up over 40% of our current sales.2018 saw the addition of our 5th store, the 3rd in the Salt Lake valley.

Developed online and offline marketing campaigns driven by brand positioning. Managed email, snail mail, and text message lists along with social media channels. Social media channels include Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+. Oversaw the building of our ecommerce site redballoontoystore.com.

Recorded and mixed local artists'​ and bands' music. Set the right expectations before beginning a project by discussing their budgets and finding a solution to give them the biggest bang for their buck.
