Successfully signed up an enthusiastic cohort of partners in California, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee, with their students now spending semesters at UWS. After positive feedback, conversations are advanced with many additional prospective partners, with a strong growth outlook.

This was a strategic, University-wide role, developing exchange and study-abroad partnerships as well as major research collaborations:. Developing study-abroad activity, resulting in steadily increasing numbers of incoming, international fee-paying undergraduate students. Numbers doubled over 5 years, particularly through building and growing strong partnerships.. Driving significant progress in the strategic research partnership with Columbia University through the introduction of the Early Career Mobility Scheme (2013). Within a few years, the partnership saw a major increase in joint publications and some £4m in joint grant income. Building on this achievement, the scheme was extended to include the University of Hong Kong (2014), McGill University (2015), the University of Sydney (2016) and the Smithsonian Institution (2018).. Growing and developing the portfolio of strong partners for student exchange, in support of the University's strategy of increasing student mobility to 20% by 2020.. Deputising for the Principal, including regularly hosting overseas alumni events.. Deputising for the Vice-Principal (International).. Leading the University's engagement with the Fulbright Commission, the Marshall Commission and the Carnegie Corporation of New York which funded a 10-year programme of Andrew Carnegie lectures at the University of Glasgow (2014-2023).
