Professional with 15+ years’ operational experience in trade and competitiveness, both in the public policy managing side and hands-on field experience. Through my professional career I have supported internationalisation of both SMEs and large firms, especially in emerging markets and I have worked as well in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) promotion. More recently, as a Private Sector Liaison Officer for the World Bank Group, I had the chance to get a first hand knowledge of multilateral financial institutions delivering solutions and financing international development projects on a regional and global scale.Currently, I work in the Cluster Programme managing team at the Dept. of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Basque Country Government and I have enjoyed a unique opportunity of taking part in the review of our 25 years long Clusters Policy, credited to have been the first in place worldwide. As a member of the board in different Cluster organisations, for nearly ten years now, I have been directly involved in the challenge of promoting coopetition and fostering open innovation for competitiveness. My engagement as a Mentor (pro bono) in TCI Network (Cluster Policy) Mentoring Programme, has been an intellectual challenge that has also broadened my perspective, re-assesing my own views and providing me with different insights on new trends and solutions from a different context. I am a committed and enthusiastic team player and leader that strives to be always better and to learn everyday from and with my peers and colleages. Fluency in Basque, Spanish, English, French, German and Portuguese, and working knowledge of Chinese, allow me to develop professional relationships with a wide spectrum of specialists worldwide. If you want to share some views on innovation, trade & competitiveness, just get in touch.
