I’m co-founder at bound4blue, where we are developing a rigid wingsail technology, similar to an airplane wing, but adapted to be integrated on merchant vessels. The technology is designed as a complementary propulsion system to solve the two big challenges maritime transport is facing: fuel cost and more restrictive regulations concerning pollutant emissions.At a second stage, the company will use this technology as the key part of a hydrogen production system based on wind-power and electrolysis.As bound4blue CTO and Project Manager, my tasks include:- Identification and monitoring market/product needs and requirements and align the technology development to them.- Lead technology development, building and managing the technology development roadmap and strategy.- Development and management of the project plan and execution, including scope, milestones, schedule, cost, quality, communication and project team.- Stakeholders (internal and external) management.- Management of the whole life cycle (submission, execution and justification) of projects submitted to R&D funding programs (ACCIO, CDTI, CE/H2020…).My tasks and responsibilities extend to other fields within the company in order to give support to the CEO, including:- Finances: Market analysis, business analysis, business plan development and fund raising. - Company management: 1) Company strategy definition and monitoring. 2) HR management- Marketing and sales: 1) Assisting to congresses, conferences and fairs. 2) Identifying, contacting and managing the relationship with customers. 3) Developing business case analyses for customers.

I was part of the founding team at Zero 2 Infinity. The company develops and operates technologies to provide access to space with stratospheric balloons (for science, technology testing and PR & Sponsorship), human space travel and a dedicated nano satellite LEO launcher.My tasks and responsibilities included a wide range of fields:Project Management – Project requirements and objectives definition. Build, manage and update the technology development roadmap. Develop and manage the project plan and execution for the development of near-space capsules (unmanned and manned) and of the balloon launch equipment.Engineering – Design, manufacture, integrate and test near-space vehicles (with special focus on balloon and flight equipment, descent system, ECLSS) and balloon launch equipment.Business development – Elaborate, submit and negotiate collaboration proposals with several suppliers. I worked on an EU-FP7 project with a consortium of SMEs and a Horizon2020 SME Instrument.Sales – Prepare and submit documentation, and have meetings and negotiations oriented to attract scientific and technological customers and PR & Sponsorship customers.Fund raising – Develop a complete business plan for the company. Prepare proposals for private and public investors. Pitch the project to and negotiate with these investors.Manufacturing – Some of the equipment was built in-house. I helped the workshop operators during the manufacturing of that equipment.Campaign coordination – Prepare and coordinate the company’s flight campaigns. The tasks included preparing the launch, flight and recovery operations; selection, analysis and coordination with the launch base; selection, integration and test of the balloon equipment.Launch/Recovery crew – Perform several high-altitude balloon flights, including the launch and recovery operations.Company management – Assist the CEO on the daily management, company strategy and HR.
