One of 25 members of NEMSAC, appointed by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg for a 2-year term, and subsequently reappointed Chair of the Adaptability & Innovation Committee. NEMSAC was established by the federal government in April 2007 to provide advice and recommendations regarding EMS to DOT/NHTSA and to the members of the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS (FICEMS). NEMSAC makes recommendations on national EMS policies, priorities, and initiatives to the federal government.

Volunteer member of the interagency hoist rescue program, through RedSTAR Wilderness EMS. Qualified in inland, vertical surface, open/moving water, and night hoist procedures. Have conducted numerous live rescues in a variety of environments and weather conditions.

Provide ambulance-based 911 response as well as wilderness EMS response to the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park, as founder and coordinator of the RedSTAR wilderness response unit.
