David is a practical, innovative, professional engineer with extensive design and project engineering experience. David's work includes the design of specialist engineering solutions for industrial, structural and civil applications. Solutions are in compliance with the relevant Australian Standards to ensure safe and practical end products.He is a partner and joint owner of Howarth Fisher and Associates Consulting Engineers (www.howarthfisher.com ). David’s roles include lead designer for industrial, civil and structural projects, a shared role in the management of the business, and business development. David qualified with an Honors degree in Engineering (University of Tas), has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Technology Management. David is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), on the National Engineers Register (NER) for civil engineering, structural engineering and project management is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAUST), an Engineering Executive (EngExec), IntPE(Aus) and an APEC certified engineer.David was 2017 Professional Engineer of the Year, Engineers Australia (TAS) and past Engineers Australia Division Committee member.David was the Managing Director and is currently a Director of Ducane Australia Pty Ltd (www.drainwave.com). David and a team of specialists successfully developed a world first water efficiency enabling product. David was the East Timor In-Country Manager for Pitt and Sherry working with a team from the US, E. Timor, Philippines, Bangladesh, and Australia. His primary objective was to provide engineering capacity to help with the post war reconstruction of the Country.To compliment his design skills, David has a solid grounding in practical hands on work, having owned and operated a broad acre farm. He operated dozers, backhoe front end loaders, trucks, tractors and other machinery to produce wool, beef, irrigated Dutch Iris flowers, timber, grain and quarried sand. The works and much of the machinery servicing, building works and maintenance were undertaken by David.
