David Fitzgerald is a Post Trade Projects and Product Management at Euronext. Colleagues describe him as "David is highly motivated and would bring much energy to any role. He has a well-developed Operational risk focus and combines this with a drive for efficiency and lean processing. An example of this was when he spearheaded the development of a company-wide automated checklist which streamlined our control assurance process. I saw many examples of David immersing himself in projects – he took up Six Sigma Lean processing, got a green belt and then went on to transform the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment process (RCSA) which was over-complex, bureaucratic and required co-ordination between a multitude of business areas. It is testament to his tenacity and communication skills (keeping stakeholders engaged and winning over their support for changes in what was a politically-sensitive process) that this process was made significantly more efficient - we are now doing quarterly RCSAs. David also created daily Key Risk Indicators for his business – this enabled us to see at a glance how well it was managing its Operational Risk and enabled quicker reactions to issues flashing up in the KRI dashboard. I found David to be always on top of his brief. He is also someone who is not afraid to challenge stakeholders if he sees decisions being made that are inefficient or risky.
