I teach high-achieving lawyers how to become great rainmakers so they can attract more clients, multiply their income, contribute more to their firms, and get more enjoyment from their careers. For over 27 years, I've worked with law firms and individual lawyers to rapidly accelerate their business development, cross-selling, client service and abilities as revenue-focused leaders.BRIEF BACKGROUND:I have trained and coached thousands of lawyers and leaders in hundreds of firms world-wide (including nearly half of the Am Law 200), I was inducted into the National Law Journal Hall of Fame for being voted the "Best Business Development Coach and Consultant" for three consecutive years, and I have spoken at hundreds of law firm events. I’ve also authored and co-authored 14 books on leadership, cross-selling and business development (with 2 of my 4 solo books becoming all-time best-sellers).I am a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management, a Trusted Advisor with the Professional Development Consortium, an Expert in Residence in the NEXL lawyer community, founder of Law Firm CultureShift®; creator of the Culture Xray®; developer of technology to drive more cross-selling (Cross Serving®) and developer of an online course (Lawyer BookBuilder) that helps lawyers become superior rainmakers.VIRTUAL TRAINING:During COVID, I delivered high impact virtual meetings that in many cases were significantly more engaging, more collaborative and more action-oriented than typical in person events. For example, in several firms I led remote sessions that engaged senior leaders in training, small group brainstorming and planning that resulted in specific commitments to take action on new ways to activate more cross-selling.I also designed and facilitated the first virtual crowdsourcing/brainstorming event for legal learning professionals on the topic of designing high impact remote meetings, resulting in nearly 100 best practices that were shared throughout their association.OBSESSION:As an athlete and former semi-pro tennis player, I’ve always been fanatical about cracking the code on achieving higher performance. My library is filled with books like “Smarter Faster Better”, "Atomic Habits", “The Power of Habit”, “The Rise of Superman”, “The Path of the Everyday Hero”, “Inner Tennis”, “Winning Ugly”, “In the Zone”, “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience”, “Confidence” and, of course, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”. My belief is that with the right mindset, strategies, skills, habits and support, anyone can raise their game to higher levels.
