I worked as the junior analyst providing sell-side research on large-cap life insurance companies. As part of my responsibilities, I maintained earnings models, wrote research reports and discussed the team's investment views on target companies to the firm's sales staff and institutional investment clients.

I managed several portfolios of life insurance companies (portfolio sized ranged from 15 to 30 companies) with the responsibility of assigning Financial Strength Ratings on target of companies. I presented my recommendations to the firm's rating committee based on regular reviews with target company executives. I also developed a survey of industry participants which resulted in my authorship of an industry whitepaper on variable annuities.

I was employed as a member of the company's Actuarial rotation program. My roles included rotations in different departments including the annuity reserves department (developed an Actuarial model for variable annuity reserves), life pricing department (updated Life Insurance Actuarial pricing model) and investor relations department (monitored and reported to executive management on equity research written on the company and its peers in addition to broader industry trends).

I worked in the firm's benefits consulting practice to develop income statement expenses and balance sheet liabilities for client's post-retirement health benefits, stock option and pension programs. My primary responsibility was to work with clients to gather required data in order to update models and to provide analysis of results to senior members of the engagement teams.
