Accountable for operational procedures, task management, leadership, training and overseeing servicing, refurbishment, rework and recalls of direct response television advertised (DRTV) products in Australia and New Zealand. I am responsible for the quality, compliance and safety of all new products and work closely internally with the operations and sales teams to deliver an excellent customer experience during the life cycle of all products and externally with government regulating bodies, manufactures and customers.

I was accountable for leadership, scheduling, task management, training and overseeing the team of service, application & solutions engineering personnel located in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland. The team comprised of various skill sets across Logistic and Factory Automation in areas like RFID, Barcode Reading, Track and Trace, Vision and Safety Solutions Systems.

Sydney Airport is the busiest airport in Australia handling over 37 million passengers, 300,000 aircraft movements and 14 million outbound bags per a year. As the Baggage Handling System (BHS) Contracts Manager I coordinated, and was financially responsible for the engineering and support contracts around the baggage handling system including operation and maintenance of the system, in-line explosive detection, tub management and manual encoding. My other roles included project management of installations, enhancements and minor works to the baggage handling system. This included tendering, scheduling, design, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing. I also managed regular system testing of the in-line explosive detection system and associated networks.

Smiths Detection offers complete security solutions to Government Bodies, Military and Airports and Port Authorities through trace detection equipment, x-ray screening systems and several other proven and developing technologies. Smiths Detection is a world leader in transportation security, based on a combination of trace detection and x-ray security technologies, notably airport baggage x-ray systems and passenger screening. As the Account Manager for Transportation I look after all facets of Accounts Management for Australian Airports, with the key account being Sydney Airports Corporation Limited, other major accounts included Perth International Airport and Cairns Airport. My duties include liaison with the customer, sales to accounts, quotes, delivery, installation and commissioning, management of service and maintenance, financial management of accounts and representing Smiths Detection Australia and Asia-Pacific at meetings and conferences.

Glidepath Ltd is New Zealand’s largest manufacturer and exporter of Airport Baggage Handling and Inline Explosive Detection Systems. As the Control Systems Project Manager, I was the Project Manager of smaller projects (under NZ$2million) and the Technical Manager for larger projects. My responsibilities included producing and controlling the System Design Specifications, management of the project scope and variations. I maintained the project programme of works; coordinating the electrical, mechanical and software design, project purchasing and testing processes (including documentation). I also managed the system installation, commissioning and system handover. Other duties include project bid management, concept project design, process philosophy, project costing, capital costing and consumption rates estimation.

Bass Brewers was the United Kingdoms largest brewer, employing over 5000 staff throughout the UK. As an electrical and electronic engineer I was employed by Bass Brewers as a process and production engineer in the ‘Smallpack’ department of the Cape Hill Brewery, Birmingham. I was responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment on the bottling, canning and packaging lines of the brewery(FMCG).

A Royal Naval Weapons Engineer is responsible for daily maintenance and general upkeep of weapon systems, radar, sonar, communications, display systems, computers and associated electronics onboard Royal Navy warships. Whilst in the Royal Navy I served on Portsmouth based Type 42 Destroyers, other positions within took me to Gibraltar as radio maintainer for the Royal Air Forces’ Fight Watch (communication with aircraft in Gibraltar air space) and Fleet Maintenance, Portsmouth Harbour, providing specialist maintenance to radio and radar propagation and reception systems, including waveguides, antennas, aerials and display systems.
