Coastal engineer specialized in wave overtopping and breakwater design. I obtained my MSc in Civil Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and my PhD about wave overtopping of steep-low crested structures at Ghent University (Belgium). I have published several scientific articles in journals and international conferences. I'm interested in coastal processes, including nature-based coastal protection, and in coastal and harbour engineering research.I'm now working in the State Corps of Civil Engineers in Spain. Soy ingeniero por la Universitat Politècnica de València y relicé mi doctorado en rebase de diques con fuerte pendiente y francobordo pequeño en la Universidad de Gante (Bélgica). Phd Researcher
Experimental study of wave overtopping performance of steep low-crested structures. 2D hydraulic model tests were performed at the wave flume of the Department of Civil Engineering at Ghent University. Inaccuracies in the existing prediction formulae are detected and studied, and enhanced prediction formulae are presented for the average overtopping and the probability distribution of the individual overtopping volumes. The new prediction formulae improve the accuracy of wave overtopping volumes for steep low-crested structures range while maintaining the accuracy for other types of structures.
