When I asked close friends and Mentors to describe me, these are some things that kept coming up-which is always nice to hear I suppose. . . long as my checks don't bounce. (Ha!) Moving on . . . After returning from Japan in 2000 where I worked for 6 years after graduate school teaching English, composition, ESL, literature and writing, I became a casualty of "Dot Bomb 1.0" and ended up starting my own company (almost despite myself) while also working in various positions in marketing. Fast forward 20 years later. . . I scaled, grew, and exited KettleBell Concepts to global B2B brand with over 10,000 instructors domestically and distributors internationally. I did this with no investment capital, an extremely lean team, and me leveraging technology (and my savings & credit cards!) to make an organization with a lot of moving parts hum along rather well. I happily am now on the "other side" of the HALO (Health, Active Lifestyle, Outdoor) sector in the finance world working at the 12+ year old, highly respected firm Integrity Square as their CMO. I focus on everything for them on the marketing side (including Executive Produce the well-known HALO Talks podcast, hosted by Pete Moore.) Lastly, as a vocal fan of small businesses (always have been) I've been running Local Mobile Marketing Solutions (www.localmobiletoday.com) where I focus on helping seriously move the needle on the sales side using a tool called the Prospect Wizard. It does very well for our customers many of whom are, obviously, in the HALO space and we have 1% churn.
