Supervise 6‐man internal team and up to 50 external contractors simultaneously, providing logistics support services to the operation. Achievements: Achieved cost savings in excess of R3million p.a. on improved rail offloading locomotive costs. Sourced and contracted jointly with procurement to achieve approximately R1millon p.a. for the next 5yrs on stevedoring contract ﴾shiploading﴿. Significant improvement to safety in government owned and operated terminal where Rio Tinto staff are required to operate. Ongoing, continuous improvement to reduction of product losses through spillages in government operated terminal. Sourced and contracted new supplier to achieve significant cost cutting on quality control contracting partner, jointly with procurement. Increased sulphate rail fleet capacity by 30% to accommodate increased sulphate customer demand. Directed full discharge, local road transport, warehousing, and long distance haul (1,000-k.m. radius). * Established new land logistics service, providing door-to-door delivery for existing customer for all landside logistics activities and transport of 10,000 metric tons of bulk per annum. (2008)* Managed cost control of all operational costs valued at 30M SAR per annum.
