Senior Software Engineer

Current

Redmond, Washington, Us

Redesigned and rebuilt the data acquisition pipeline making it reusable across SPFx apps and components through the invention of Tiered Caching (Persistent data cache service – Patent application number 17/039427) I implemented the migration for SharePoint News Webpart with a performance benefit of ~72% (2.5s) at boot time. I led the migration for other experiences/teams including sharepoint.aspx, Viva Topics, and Viva Connections Feed. I designed an async prefetch pattern (server and client) to couple with Tiered Caching, when used together, the components would also benefit from a freshness of data boost not requiring to rely on cache and re-render over 95% of the time.Led the client-side crew to ship to GA (including app redesign, rebuild, and refactor) the first version of Viva Amplify, a premium tool to streamline and centralize internal communication processes within organizations. I built the News Notifications feature for Viva Connections app on Teams. After GA I created performance improvements based on server transfer functionality, allowing the app hosting News Articles to render without additional redirections.I work closely with PMs, designers, management, data scientists, user researchers, and other teams all throughout the life cycle of my features, from specs, architectural design, development, testing, deployment cadence, refactoring, etc. until the product/feature is shipped and continues to be serviced, making data-driven decisions along the way.

Software Engineer 2

Redmond, Washington, Us

Since transitioning from SDET to SDE in the SharePoint team, I have built and shipped many features and components in Office Delve, SharePoint Home, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Office UI Fabric React and SharePoint News using various technologies like asp.net, C#, MVVM, TypeScript, React, JavaScript.I work closely with PMs, designers, management, data scientists and other teams all throughout the life cycle of my features, from specs, architectural design, development, testing, deployment cadence, refactoring, etc. until the product/feature is shipped and serviced. Additionally I am the in-house expert on Web Accessibility and I provide help and guidance many teams in Redmond, Norway and China to design their Web experiences according to the Microsoft's and W3C's Accessibility Standards. In the last few months I've been focusing on client-side performance.

Software Engineer

Redmond, Washington, Us

I joined Microsoft SharePoint as a SDET just at the beginning of a reorg due to shipping SharePoint 2013. I on boarded the SP Social collaboration features from a team in Boston. At that time Microsoft had just acquired Yammer, and my team was responsible for integrating Yammer into Office365, so I transitioned the Yammer Web Part for SharePoint, adding health monitoring to the Web Part in the process.Being exposed and working closely with a startup like Yammer, I learned and developed agile ways to work. I mainly worked on the SharePoint side of the enterprise features, while collaborating with many teams in Redmond, San Francisco, London and the east coast. I worked on data and analytics, providing valuable insights about feature usage and engagement to many teams in SharePoint, Office365 and Microsoft, helping to build the data pipeline when needed. I have built many Feature Usage, User Engagement and Reliability Dashboards. I have also provided support to my team as On Call Engineer, testing hot fixes, investigating and fixing critical incidents that require collaboration from many teams.

Automation Specialist

Pricewaterhouse Coopers Mexico

PwC Mexico was required to capture public insurance record information from the web. When I met the team, they were capturing all that data by hand. I designed and developed a set of Selenium java based automations to retrieve the needed public information, and save it into xls. This was needed to be done via web automation because even when the data is public, the DBs storing the data are not exposed. They knew beforehand that I was relocating to USA in 1 month, so I coached and trained 1 team member to be their new in house automation specialist. This person had no knowledge on object oriented programming. I taught him Object Oriented Programming in Java, basic Data Structures, and Selenium framework. In 1 month, the automations retrieved more than 1 year worth of 4 team members’ work.
