Systems engineering & mission design to support space missions

Systems and mission design for a set of deep-space probes to explore resource availability on near-Earth asteroids. Moved from SE on an 8-person advanced concepts team to Lead Systems Engineer for the asteroid resource exploration mission as the project became the primary work for the majority of the company.

I took various projects from conception to on-orbit operations. I served as the lead system engineer for a variety of projects including GOMX-3, SEAM, and the GOMX-4A/B missions. This work involved working among a variety of players: customers, subcontractors, and the company's interests. I also performed general technical development and provided technical advice for many sales proposals.

As a graduate student, I worked on the Colorado Student Space Weather Experiment, a 3U CubeSat for space weather investigation. My work on this satellite led to my investigations into the dynamics of a Passive Magnetic Attitude Control (PMAC) system. Development, testing, and simulation of PMAC dynamics became the subject of my dissertation.

Developed a photogrammetric sensing system for the ARES1-X experimental rocket. The system was to measure separation distances in real time between the second stage rocket nozzle and the first stage.
