About David Hardacre
I love solving problems and helping others. I enjoy gaining an understanding of how things work and supporting clients and colleagues to identify and solve business problems. I’m a natural fit for an engineer and troubleshooter because of my resourcefulness and persistence, whether it’s engineering analysis, improving processes, developing software-based solutions or formulating learning plans and resources. I have a passion for leading and developing teams and I enjoy the diversity that engineering provides, from technical analysis to marketing new technologies, such as additive manufacturing. I've continued to learn new skills and take on new challenges throughout my career. Starting as a control engineer in the marine industry, moving to thermodynamics and fluid dynamics analyses in the aerospace industry, and then to stress analysis and quality assurance in the energy industry, I've developed a strong mix of engineering skills and attained Fellow status with the IMechE. I've been heavily involved with additive manufacturing since 2010, where I've collaborated with organisations globally and worked with a mix of cultures and disciplines on various projects and the development of international standards. My software experience and teacher training greatly help my efficiency and ability to manage, develop and coach teams in the workplace, as well as deliver training courses and presentations. My versatility, reliability and willingness to learn new skills to overcome challenges has helped me to quickly contribute to every team I've worked in. I've trained graduates, supervised PhD students and coached direct reports ranging from 20 years to 60 years.
