After graduating from Leeds university and completing my Post Grad . I joined Nat.West bank as a Mangement Trainee , and after leaving I became a Lecture in Business Studies . I followed this by developing my own accountancy business and I was financial director for Ballymena Business Development centre . Using my skills ,knowledge and experience when I moved into the University sector , which I have worked in for 20 years I created the Efactor . This is a model which allows anyone to become more enterprising and Innovative. A Book The Efactor was then Published by Pearson in 2006 and due to this particular model being successful I have won over 45 awards , including being awarded the OBE for my contribution to enterprise education By developing the efactor skills system and creating ecosystems I also won the Outstanding Global program with Usasbe and 3 Times Higher Education awards . I also received the Best in Europe Award in 2016 for my efactor work and I am the only person worldwide to have achieved this . The Efactor book and program has been used in over 15 universities in the Uk and extensively in South Africa . To date I have trained well over thousands of staff and students Now I have created the digital program and am a Professor in the University of Cumbria
