I'm in my second year at SGA, my first post in China, where I’ve collaborated with the leadership team to organize competitions, assist with designing the school sports mascot and logo, and develop the Visual Arts curriculum for MYP and Diploma levels. I submitted the school's first Visual Arts e-portfolios for MYP moderation, with my class achieving excellent results, and I’m guiding the schools first cohort of Diploma students through the IB Visual Arts Diploma.I’ve organized art trips to Shenzhen and Hong Kong, giving students valuable insights by visiting other schools' IB exhibitions. I also manage materials for the Visual Arts program and present the course to parents.Supporting many English as a second language students has been a valuable growth experience. I’ve recently completed CAT 2 MYP Visual Art training and have been appointed as an IB Diploma Visual Art examiner for the Comparative Study and the Exhibition.

At Oryx International School, I taught KS3, IGCSE, and A-Level Fine Art and Graphic Design.I joined last minute due to COVID restrictions preventing my son from entering a previous post’s country. The school’s supportive management and efficient organization made the experience rewarding, and I enjoyed the challenge of a full timetable in a dynamic, growing environment.I coordinated the school-wide COBIS art competitions and led a collaborative World Cup art installation with senior management, parents, and students, completed just before the school’s six-week closure for the event.

Teaching MYP and DP Visual Arts for grades 9-12 at Concordia International School was a wonderful experience. The school owner’s commitment to fostering moral and ethical values in future leaders of Thailand made it even more meaningful.

At Markham College, I taught IGCSE and IB DP Visual Arts, participated in the Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS) programs, and served as Head of the Cultural Council. I also represented the school as a reviewer with the Latin American Heads Conference and had the opportunity to chaperone students on a Round Square trip to a member school in California.

Having already committed to Markham College, Peru, I accepted a short-term contract at Al Yasmina. Despite the temporary position, I found it to be a great school with dedicated and supportive management.

At Rashid School for Boys, I taught Graphic Art and Photography. I taught KS3, IGCSE and A level, working closely with future leaders of Dubai and gaining valuable professional experience under the leadership of Angela Williams.

At International School Moshi, I taught MYP and DP Visual Arts as the sole art teacher on campus. The experience was made exceptional by a creative and dedicated student body within a supportive community.

At Wymondham College, I taught GCSE and A-Level as maternity cover, and at the end of my contract, I was offered a full-time position due to my contributions. I worked closely with Mike Chambers and an incredibly strong art department, where students produced exceptional artwork. Additionally, I supported the boarding program two evenings a week, helping students excel both academically and creatively.

I began at The International School of Bangalore as a teacher and was quickly promoted to Master in Charge of the Arts and the department. In this role, I supported both students and teachers, teaching IGCSE Visual Arts and the IB Diploma Program, and contributing to the Boarding Program. My responsibilities included working two evenings a week and every other weekend, leading trips, outdoor activities, arts, CAS, and service programs. This experience highlighted the value of international education in fostering the growth of both students and educators.

Penketh High School was my first post after completing my PGCE. I completed my teaching practice there and was offered a full-time position. After a year of success, including moderating over 135 GCSE coursework submissions and achieving excellent results, I was offered the Head of Department role when the school earned Art Specialist status. However, I chose to pursue a career in international education.Penketh, a dynamic and fully inclusive UK state school with large class sizes, provided invaluable experience. I had the privilege of seeing students' artwork featured in local newspapers and led several trips to London art galleries. Under the guidance of my Head of Department, Alison Jenkins, I gained a solid understanding of GCSE and A-Level teaching, which set me on the path of my journey as an art teacher.
