• Reporting directly to the Group Chief Compliance Officer. My main responsibilities were:
• Leading a team of 15 senior credit staff who reviewed lending decisions, controls, policies methodologies and frameworks across a wide variety of lending products and streams including Corporate, SME’s and Retail.
• Initiate a stakeholder management framework, with engagement at all levels within the organization, including Executive Management and Board members.
• Develop a Risk based Credit review techniques based on a thorough understanding of Credit risk mitigations and financing mechanisms.
• The identification of risks and controls related to Credit Risk Management including exposure to different Credit Risk methodologies.
• Broaden the remit, capability, expertise and profile of the existing team and function within AIB.

• I reported directly to the Head of Wholesale Credit Sanctioning. My main responsibilities were to:
• Lead a team of 12 senior credit sanctioners who together managed the Ulster Bank Business Banking ROI book. I was accountable for the approval and management of credit transactions undertaken in Ulster Bank’s Business.
• Additionally, as one of four key Senior Credit Authority holders in Ulster Bank, I approved complex credit risk proposals within my personal discretion of c. €125m.
• Influence the development of Ulster Bank’s risk appetite and credit policy in the light of market intelligence, emerging portfolio trends and regulatory demands.
• Work closely with Risk Assurance and Audit Seniors to ensure the highest standards of Asset Quality, Business Outcomes, Compliance with Risk Management & Governance Frameworks and adherence to Credit Appetite.
• Develop and embed process efficiencies in the end-to-end sanctioning chain using LEAN and other management tools & techniques, most recently exploring ‘off-shoring’ to India.

Dublin

• Working in the frontline, I managed a portfolio (Total committed exposure c. €400m) of very high net worth clients for BOI Private Banking.
• I managed two direct reports.
• I provided these clients with bespoke credit and investment advice and products. Typical deal size €2m - €10m.

Dublin

• I reported directly to the Group Financial Accountant, my duties ultimately led to the production of the Group’s annual and interim reports.
• I analysed and consolidated financial management information from all Bank of Ireland subsidiaries.
• I prepared performance reports and recommendations on the Group’s US subsidiaries.
• I provided interpretations of evolving financial reporting guidelines from the various accountancy bodies, company law and prevailing tax legislation to achieve best practice.
• I liaised with Bank’s external auditors in the preparation of the Bank’s audited financial statements.
