Laboratory Manager for a network of five laboratories supporting drinking water, wastewater, and bio-solids analysis, drinking water and wastewater treatment, and harbor and watershed monitoring.

Manager of a staff of sixteen tasked with sampling, analyzing, and reporting timely and accurate information relating to the operations of the water system. Tasks include:- Comply with regulatory compliance monitoring programs and provide technical support to internal and external clients regarding water quality of source water, process treatment, and within the Authority distribution system;- Provide technical support to client communities regarding implementation of sampling plans, operational field activities, and client complaints within their storage and distribution systems;Lead of a team of four Quality Assurance Managers tasked with the constant monitoring of those items that may influence the quality of either source or finished water.- Monitor, review, and disseminate microbiological and plankton (algae) data that may be a concern to Authority management. Follow up to insure regulatory compliance, as required;- Monitor and review contaminant monitoring system notifications for possible changes in baseline water quality conditions. Investigate significant changes to identify source or elevate to senior management if source cannot be identified.Lead responsible for specification, procurement, installation, characterization, and final acceptance of the Authority Contaminant Warning System.- Actively manage project while supporting development and expansion of the system for new facilities and remote monitoring;- Aid in development of alarm characterization protocols and integration with Authority Consequence Management plans.

Tasks included:- Provide periodic reports to operations management regarding water quality of source water, process treatment, and within the Authority distribution system;- Provide periodic reports to government agencies to demonstrate and document compliance with current regulations;- Provide periodic reports to client communities to educate citizens with regard to their water quality and encourage consumer confidence;- Provide ad hoc reports, as requested, to meet the needs and expectations of our various internal or external clients.Member of a team of four Quality Assurance Managers tasked with the constant monitoring of those items that may influence the quality of either source or finished water. Tasks included:- Monitor, review, and disseminate microbiological data that may be a concern to Authority management. Lead responsible for development and expansion of the Contaminant Warning System for new facilities and remote mobile monitoring.

Quality Assurance and Environmental Health and Safety lead for an environmental analytical laboratory staff of 50. Tasks included:- Maintain and monitor corrective and preventative action systems;- Maintain laboratory certification and accreditation programs;- Review and provide individual analyst training;- Provide technical review of data to insure compliance with analytical procedures, and regulatory requirements;- Perform project and system quality assurance audits;- Maintain and monitor laboratory proficiency testing programs;- Review and evaluate subcontractor qualifications and performance;- Chair laboratory safety committee;- Maintain laboratory health and safety plan;- Maintain laboratory environmental monitoring program;- Prepare reports to management, clients, and regulatory agencies as required;- Formalize internal reporting and tracking of sample and quality control results; and- Provide technical support and oversight to other areas as required.

Supervision of environmental analytical laboratory team responsible for meeting client expectations. Tasks included:- Schedule and perform sample analysis to meet required hold and turn around times;- Review and verify data generated on client samples;- Prepare internal reports and finalized client data deliverables;- Develop and implement custom methodologies to provide unique environmental solutions;- Provide validation services to project officers and engineers;- Correlate field and laboratory data for comparability assessment;- Review Quality Assurance Plans and Sampling and Analytical Plans to verify that specified methodologies would meet project data quality objectives;- Validate third party laboratory data to verify that it would meet project data quality objectives;- Perform laboratory audits to verify laboratory capabilities, quality assurance and control procedures, and staff qualifications.
