As Manager of the IT Service Management office, I lead a team of developers and analysts responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our ITSM platform (TeamDynamix) and associated work order processing systems (e.g. Calero Pinnacle), the e911 system (Intrado/West), the parking management system (Cardinal TickeTrak), and Tableau reporting. My office facilitates ITSM processes for the university (Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Problem Management, and Configuration/Asset Management) and my span of care includes faculty, staff, students, and other key stakeholders of the institution.

As Interim AVC/CIO, I lead the UCR Information Technology Solutions organization and act as a strategic partner to the campus in support of the university’s mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care.

As the Deputy CIO, Enterprise Solutions, I set the strategic direction for all of our enterprise development efforts related to human resources and academic personnel systems, financial systems, student information systems, campus web solutions, business intelligence, campus reporting solutions, and special projects.

I am responsible for software systems and applications developed and deployed at UC Riverside. I oversee the complete software development life cycle on all projects (assessing needs, writing specifications, designing/developing/testing software, implementing systems, supporting operations, and evaluating/tuning performance). In addition to application development, project management, and change management, I am responsible for application security and development of other software tools and “middleware”. I am responsible for all client/server database development for The ImagiNation Network’s on-line multi-player gaming service. This encompasses full life-cycle development (analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance) of all software that interacts with the Oracle database servers as well as certain DBA functions such as the design, normalization, and creation of Oracle databases (tables, views, synonyms, sequences, stored procedures, indexes, constraints, links, users, roles, privileges, etc.) and SQL*Net configuration of Windows and UNIX client machines.Significant projects include:Design and creation of INN’s Oracle 7.3 database used at America Online headquarters to support the CyberPark and GameXpress multi-player gaming environments.Development of the AOL Login Authentication Server (AOLAS); a multithreaded, object-oriented C++ program for Solaris 2.5 which acts as the interface between the INN and AOL systems, thereby allowing America Online members to seamlessly access CyberPark and GameXpress.Development of the Account/Billing Server (ABS); a multithreaded, object-oriented server process written in C++, OCI, and PL/SQL Stored Procedures. This server, which runs under Solaris 2.5, handles all Oracle database transactions to support the CyberPark and GameXpress environments, while also tracking members' system usage.Development of the INN Member Account General Entry System (IMAGES). IMAGES is a MS-Windows/Oracle 7 based system used by INN’s customer service centers (Oakhurst, California; Burlingame, California; and Denver, Colorado) to create and maintain The ImagiNation Network’s member accounts. IMAGES was written in Visual Basic 3.0, C, Pro*C, OCI, and PL/SQL Stored Procedures. It contains numerous sub-systems such as a shipping system designed to ensure that all members are kept up to date with the latest software and product documentation, and an electronic mail system to improve interaction with members.

My primary focus consists of the design and development of GIDEP-Windows 1.0; an integrated program which functions as a communications package, search engine, and user interface to the GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program) database. Used by approximately 3,000 government agencies and commercial organizations, this C++/MS-Windows based product provides dial-up access to the nation’s most comprehensive electronic library of technical documents.Other duties include:Training GIDEP system users throughout North America on GIDEP-Windows 1.0, the principles of data communications, and on Unidas and System 2000 database queries.Maintaining software used for data processing on a Unisys 1100/93 mainframe.Developing macro application programs such as statistical process control and budget forecasting and analysis in Microsoft Excel for Windows.Managing a Local Area Network running Novell Netware 2.2.Coordinating department-wide resources in the areas of configuration management and IS security.
