Profile bio

About David Graham Scott

News reporter in the Scottish North Highlands. Documentary film-maker creating a distinct body of work.Specialties: Initiating new documentary ideas and finding intriguing subjects for director-led films.I'm a good ‘ideas’ man having successfully pitched and directed various documentary proposals with UK television broadcasters. I’m also an excellent communicator, which I believe to be the really essential attribute in good filmmaking and in treating your subjects with dignity. My films are often seen as hard-edged or dark but rarely fail to create an emotional response. I have been involved with motion picture film either as a film-maker/AV technician or researcher for many years. I'm also a trained film archivist, formerly working at the Scottish Screen Archive in Glasgow where some of my own films are now lodged. My work is also on the BFI and the British Council databases. Particular areas of interest are: counter-culture and subculture issues; poverty; history; crime and punishment; weird & intriguing characters; art history; WW2 & addiction. I am currently working on a feature documentary called 'The End of the Game' with Hopscotch Films and have successfully completed the initial edit.

Listed skills include Documentaries, Film, Film Production, Television, and 21 others.
