My experience in operations started early in my career, as a young engineer, I was working as a manager in a newsprint mill. It was an excellent and challenging environment to build problem solving skills and to understand the value of managing employees to allow them to reach their full potential.Post MBA, I worked in a Venture Capital Fund, a Pension Fund Merchant Bank, an Infrastructure Fund and a Private Equity Fund. Using my previous operations experience, I was able to bring a unique perspective to private investing and investee company management. Working with existing management to achieve or exceed the expectations of the investor(s).Recently I returned to operations in a senior position at Ainsworth, and was responsible for delivering a variety of services across Canada. We completed a restructuring and were actively implementing process across the organization.
