The Common Technology Lead plays pivotal role working with each of the consuming services to ensure commonality of approach and to ensure effective roadmap planning – both suggesting new changes and features as well as catering for the needs coming out of the individual areas.When considering change the Common Technology Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring that informed decisions are made not only about changes that will happen but the approach that will be undertaken, the priority given to the changes and how they will be tracked based on the relative impact to all services.The Common Technology Lead is responsible for common infrastructure, and other common technical changes, such as changes to the way pipelines operate etc. These changes by their nature can often be seen as lower value or priority when looking from a purely functional services view. It is therefore vital that the Common Technology Lead fully understands these changes and is able to articulate them to the Service Owners in a non-technical manner which appropriately conveys the importance and benefits of implementing this work.The Common Technology Lead owns and prioritises the common technology backlog, ensuring that work coming into it is correctly prioritised and sized, and ensuring that all aspects of stakeholder management with respect to these work items are undertaken. This is a pivotal role, ensuring that the needs of both individual workstreams and the common technology workstream are balanced and prioritised appropriately. The role works directly with the Common Technology Delivery Manager, who manages the backlog, moving work items through the lifecycle ensuring that business needs and priorities are met.

OmniDynamics is a 3D printing start-up that developed, manufactured, and sold Strooder.Role• Create a profitable 3D printing business.• Develop Strooder, a Plastic Filament Maker that can turn raw or recycled pelletised plastic into filament for 3D printers (FDM). • Manage 15 people and collaborate with external companies.Achievements• Started a business with no prior experience during placement year at university.• Ran a Kickstarter (crowdfunding) which met its target in 11 hours and made over 3 times its £20k goal.• Developed Strooder, within a team, through to CE compliance and batch production.• Moved production in-house reducing costs and increasing manufacturing quality from 80% to 97%.• Invited to the Amazon Vendor platform, for Strooder, as they launched their 3D printing category.• Invited to speak and pitch at several events.

Scribeless is a start-up providing printed text written with mimicked handwriting on letters and cards for example.Role• Replaced the Head of Robotics due to experience in managing a technical team on a complex project. • Develop a robotic pen plotter, to mimic handwriting, with an automatic paper feeder. • Reported to the founders and managed 5 members of technical staff with different skills and experience.Achievements• Developed the first "Scriber" (pen plotter). It could pneumatically lift paper from a stack and convincingly write on it using any fountain tip pen more than twice as fast as a human. Used 3D printing and laser cutting from CAD drawn in Autodesk Fusion 365 and coded the embedded software using C and Python.

As a Duty Manager I was responsible for a team of up to 7 people. My responsibilities included cash handling, safe handling and stock ordering, as well as the normal day to day running of the store. I was also trained as a Team Trainer, and trained several people, some becoming duty managers themselves. I also trained for and received a personal licence for the sale of alcohol.

As a store assistant I was responsible for stock rotation, freshness and serving customers at the till as well as on the shop floor.

I was wholly responsible for the security and maintenance of the school site and grounds. This included everything from cleaning and rubbish removal to litter picking and snow clearing. My biggest responsibility was being the main key holder with 52 week availability.
