I was primarily focused on the development of nutritional products, creating timelines and providing expertise on all project elements, fully supporting the global pipeline of products. I interfaced with many departments and worked in cross-functional teams to advanced projects, providing leadership throughout. This also involved the interpretation and reporting of results of experiments and sensory tests often through statistical analysis. I managed, designed, organized, and monitored bench-top, pilot plant, and industrial experiments. I also ascertained new packaging which allowed greater shelf life of probiotics and increased shelf life. Working directly with our Purchasing team, I executed on cost saving opportunities through new vendors and existing raw material consolidation. Finally, I worked directly with co-manufacturers to conceptualize and develop product prototypes.

Refreshed and updated products based on new FDA requirements, often involving evaluating new suppliers and substituting ingredients as laws changed. I worked on many product reformulations involving the approval of new vendors and updated label claims. I also managed the change control database, initiating an average of 70 change orders/year. Collected and stored all relevant documentation for probiotic development to ensure potency throughout shelf life.

Primarily devoted to bench top product development of protein powders. I worked with flavor houses and raw material vendors to further develop projects. I formulated new products in Excel and presented costing data to Marketing, while participating in the stage gate process.
