My passion continues even beyond my formal time at Chick-fil-A, as I have been asked to lead an effort to create our first ever Chick-fil-A Alumni Association. Looking forward to continuing a lifetime relationship with the people and organization I have come to love like an extended family!

Starting on literally the day I graduated from college to become the second person in a two person Marketing department, my first role was called a Field Marketing Advisor. Over the next 37 years I continued to work in various marketing roles becoming Field Marketing Supervisor as we added new Advisors. This later became National Marketing Manager as we added people and scope. Along the way I spearheaded a partnership with The Richards Group out of Dallas and from that relationship the now famous “Cow Campaign” was born. From that point on saving Bovine lives became our cause and that led to many national and international advertising awards including a Cannes Lion and an induction into the Advertising Hall of Fame. Then there was the opportunity for a two year tour of duty as Vice President of Operations to help round out my understanding of the business and for career development purposes. Then back to a role as Vice President of Marketing and finally landing as Vice President of Growth and Hospitality…two of my favorite aspects of life at Chick-fil-A. A large theme throughout my career was the creation and championing of Chick-fil-A’s Remarkable culture, something I consider one of my biggest passions. The Startup Mentor acts as a champion for innovation and entrepreneurship at UGA by helping to promote UGA programs, entrepreneurs, and success stories to alumni, industry partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.

Inspired by attending a Barmitzvah, I wanted to create a similar experience in the life of my two boys. So, I teamed up with 4 other dads when my oldest son turned 13 and we created a rite of passage experience that had massive impact on my son Nick and our relationship with each other. It turned out to be the single most important thing I did as a Dad for both of my boys. The impact was so powerful that Nick and I have teamed up with another of the dads, Jeff Henderson, to create scalable version for busy dads who want to speak into the lives of their sons in a powerful way who need a plan of action and the tools needed to make it Remarkable!
