Dr. David Hage is a gerontologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Florida and Pennsylvania, and an allied health sciences educator. David is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), a Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWCM), a Certified Advanced Aging Life Care Professional™, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). David serves as an editorial advisory board member of Today's Geriatric Medicine, Social Work Today, the Journal of Applied Gerontology, and Gerontology & Geriatric Medicine. David has previously served as a member of a hospital biomedical ethics and palliative care committees, as a board member and trainer for Pennsylvania Orders for Life sustaining Treatment (POLST), as an inpatient psychiatric hospital advisory advisory board member, and as the Chair of the PA Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-PA) statewide Aging Committee. David began his full-time appointment as a member of the Florida Gulf Coast University Social Work Department in August of 2024. In September of 2024, he was appointed as an Affiliate Faculty member of the Shady Rest Institute on Positive Aging. Prior to that, David served Misericordia University’s Social Work Program as an Assistant Professor/Director of Field Education. There he also coordinated the undergraduate Gerontology Minor within the Social Work Department, directed the post-graduate Geriatric Care Management Certificate within the Occupational Therapy Department, and served as the Faculty Liaison for the university’s Institute on Aging. David has experience teaching undergraduate through doctoral level courses in Geriatric Care Management, Gerontology, Health Care Management, Health Science, Occupational Therapy MS/OTD programs, Patient Navigation, Psychology, Social Work, & Sociology programs. David is open to invited/peer-reviewed presentation and publication opportunities, consulting, editorial advisory, and peer reviewer roles.
