I’ve always been driven to be the best in everything I do and motivated to help people at the highest level possible. It was a privilege to spend eight exciting years working my (then) dream-job as a sports agent for players in the NBA. I was helping the best, most highly paid athletes in the world negotiate multi-million dollar contracts, but over time, I began to feel limited in terms of who I was helping and the kind of impact I could make in others’ lives. I felt called to do something to help non-celebrity, everyday individuals —my friends, my family, and my community—with what they cared about. Knowing how to manage money is such an important skill set for life, yet we receive little to no formal education in it. I frequently came into contact with my NBA clients’ financial advisors, and I saw the difference they made in securing brighter futures for young players who suddenly had exponentially higher incomes. Those experiences spurred me on to do some soul searching and led me to discover my passion for financial planning. A career change beckoned, and I seized the opportunity. My chief goal as a financial advisor is to help people who may not think they have a need for financial advice, or perhaps feel that they are already well-planned.
