Serving as a trusted partner to the Board of Trustees of Whitman College (“the College”) and reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Finance and Administration (“VPFA”) is responsible for the overall management of the College’s financial and administrative functions. Also serving as the College’s Chief Financial Officer and its Treasurer, the VPFA provides strategic senior leadership and financial acumen that advances the mission and goals of the College. The VPFA manages the College’s operating budget, as well as its capital budgets, investments, and treasury operations. The VPFA also directly or indirectly oversees approximately 125 staff within Accounting and Business Services; Facilities Services; Conferences, Events, and Scheduling; Environmental Health and Safety; Emergency Preparedness; Human Resources; and Technology Services. Finally, the VPFA manages the College’s relationship with its dining services partner, Bon Appetit, and its bookstore partner, Barnes & Noble.

Ensured timely, accurate, and effective collection of data, reporting, and related statistical analyses. Communicated related decisions, efforts, and results to the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis. Chaired the University's Space Committee and Data Governance Committee.Supervised campus directors in Sacramento, San Jose, and Orange County. Worked with the deans of the schools and College to maximize net tuition generation at the University’s additional campuses. Ensured high quality delivery of students services at the University’s additional campuses. Planned and coordinated continuing, executive, and certificate programming and initiatives across the University, with an emphasis on creating a centralized storefront for these learning opportunities and supporting smooth management of the certificate learner pipeline.
