Leveraged the power of Mitek Sapphire Structure and Engineering in the design of building components for our customers. Responsible for managing all single family home and townhouse wall panel designs in seven large community developments for a leading Fortune 500 homebuilder as well as designing panel and truss packages for numerous local custom builders. Also involved in panel quoting duties utilizing PlanSwift to perform digital takeoffs and proprietary tools for bid generation.

Completed drafting, design and visualization contract work involving two and three dimensional design disciplines. Fields of project work included material handling and logistics, mechanical, electrical, structural, civil and architectural design, including the design and layout of timber-framed structures. Developed 3D solid and surface models for use in simulations, animations and multimedia presentations. Also provided personalized AutoCAD 2D/3D training services and AutoCAD programming instruction.

Responsible for the design and layout of conveyor components, conveyor systems, material handling devices, mezzanines and work platforms. Worked closely on a daily basis with in-house shop fabricators and field millwrights for the purpose of proper construction and installation of components and systems designed. Major manufacturing processes involved included welding, sheet metal forming and abrasive water jet cutting.

Utilized Mitek’s 20/20 software suite and AutoCAD in the design and production of engineered building component systems for clients. Job duties included daily collaboration with architects, general contractors, building supply distributors and fellow designers to develop custom component designs, reading and comprehension of drawing sets, construction specifications and building codes to generate bids for commercial and residential construction projects, and manage the production and delivery of those jobs when contracts were awarded.

Served as the company’s design department manager for over three years, tasked with handling the needs of more than 75 project engineers concurrently. Designed and developed alternative layouts of material handling and distribution systems. Duties entailed working directly with engineers, design teams and clients to create conveyor and storage system layouts, work cell designs for manufacturing, order fulfillment and packing utilizing ergonomic principles, project and resource scheduling as well as configuration and maintenance of the department's CAD workstations. Devised and instituted drafting standards along with custom programming for use with AutoCAD and engineering tools development.

Employed by the college’s Technology Transfer Center to digitize tax maps for Lycoming County, PA. Enlisted to assist in a proposed drafting project for Hon Enterprises involving the revision of CAD drawings for use with CNC machining operations.
