I lead a portfolio of projects for the U.S. Navy, Toyota, and QVC that require building, maintaining, and upgrading systems that are critical to day-to-day business operations. I can iterate very quickly with clients, which saves valuable time in getting their systems up and running. With the Navy, I still consult for many of the projects I originally worked on when I first joined Avum, including software engineering for the commander of the Navy Recruiting Command (CNRC) and for the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy, Acquisition and Logistics Management (DASN, ALM). I’m also working on a new Navy project to design a new contract writing system.With every project, I start by assessing user and stakeholder interaction with existing systems and applications before developing a strategy and design for a solution that resolves gaps and friction.

I joined Avum in 2009 and immediately started working with the Navy Accessions Security Identification System (NASIS) for the Navy Recruiting Command (CNRC), where I provided reengineering, development, and maintenance. Among the many projects I worked on, I redesigned, developed, and deployed the Symposium Management Application (SMA) for the Navy Postgraduate School (NPS), enabling multiple business program administrators within the NPS to create, publish, and manage websites for their symposiums/conferences. Years later, I still maintain this application for our client.In 2014 I was privileged to work on Project Learning Curve, an innovative educational software tool designed to help students improve their handwriting capabilities. Our application takes the writing done by students and records metrics that help teachers understand how to best help their students with handwriting. The project won a Silver Cannes Lions award in 2015.
