Having initially joined the company Inchcape Fleet Solutions as a Desktop Publisher, I quickly worked my way up to Head of New Media, where I managed a team of web and multimedia producers. The New Media department delivered high-end graphic design, creative concepts, interactive media, bespoke video, web design and web development to Inchcape Fleet Solutions and their fleet clients. We also provided strategic support for a wide range of above-the-line and below-the-line marketing activities. My duties as Head of New Media included a balance of production and strategic activities. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the business, I was involved in a variety of high-level strategic projects and regularly took an active role in both board meetings and client sales presentations, where I demonstrated the web systems that my team developed. As an active member of the New Business team, I worked alongside the Managing Director and board members to deliver targeted marketing advice, event management, advertising and PR. Once strategies were approved, my team and I produced all of the deliverables, monitored their success and adjusted accordingly. A notable achievement within this role was the concept and subsequent development of a client-facing information portal and vehicle management system, which at the time of implementation was industry leading. My time at Inchcape Fleet Solutions gave me a firm understanding of marketing strategy, whilst developing my hands-on business expertise. I joned this Hampshire based company as an apprentice engineer using various CAD packages. During the recession in the early 90s I was moved into the proposals department, where I was trained in graphic design. I stayed in this department until I left the company to progress my career at Inchcape Fleet Solutions.During my time at John Brown I focussed mainly on creative, graphic design and presentation materials.
