My role as a corporate trainer means that I am able to connect with businesses of all shapes and sizes, advising employees and owners on the best course of action for their organisation and recommending marketing strategies they can implement as soon as they leave the training. I work closely with the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, providing training courses for Chamber members throughout the year. Having initially joined the company Inchcape Fleet Solutions as a Desktop Publisher, I quickly worked my way up to Head of New Media, where I managed a team of web and multimedia producers. The New Media department delivered high-end graphic design, creative concepts, interactive media, bespoke video, web design and web development to Inchcape Fleet Solutions and their fleet clients. We also provided strategic support for a wide range of above-the-line and below-the-line marketing activities. My duties as Head of New Media included a balance of production and strategic activities. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the business, I was involved in a variety of high-level strategic projects and regularly took an active role in both board meetings and client sales presentations, where I demonstrated the web systems that my team developed. As an active member of the New Business team, I worked alongside the Managing Director and board members to deliver targeted marketing advice, event management, advertising and PR. Once strategies were approved, my team and I produced all of the deliverables, monitored their success and adjusted accordingly. A notable achievement within this role was the concept and subsequent development of a client-facing information portal and vehicle management system, which at the time of implementation was industry leading. My time at Inchcape Fleet Solutions gave me a firm understanding of marketing strategy, whilst developing my hands-on business expertise. I joned this Hampshire based company as an apprentice engineer using various CAD packages. During the recession in the early 90s I was moved into the proposals department, where I was trained in graphic design. I stayed in this department until I left the company to progress my career at Inchcape Fleet Solutions.During my time at John Brown I focussed mainly on creative, graphic design and presentation materials.
